In recognition of financial literacy month, the April Shared Prosperity Roundtable will bring together advocates, policy-makers and service providers to discuss the state of consumer protections for low-income residents in Philadelphia. Participants will learn about the landscape of legal protections, national and local threats to consumer rights, as well as current initiatives advocating against predatory financial products.

This Roundtable will feature presentations by:

• Lisa Servon, Professor, University of Pennsylvania, Department of City and Regional Planning, and author of The Unbanking of America: How the New Middle Class Survives
• Kerry Smith, Staff Attorney in the Consumer Unit at Community Legal Services of Philadelphia
