Now in its third year, the annual Good Food For All Conference welcomes hunger fighters, food educators, people who are facing food insecurity, and advocates for food access on May 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The conference includes a wide variety of offerings including food demonstrations, panels, and workshops. Presented by the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger and the Free Library of Philadelphia’s Culinary Literacy Center, the conference will offer opportunities to learn about eating well on a budget, reducing food waste, self-care for providers, food workers’ rights and more.
Free for SNAP eligible attendees & volunteer hunger fighters. $25-35 sliding scale for all others. Box lunch included.
The Conference Keynote Address will be given by Saru Jayaraman. Saru Jayaraman is the Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Restaurant Opportunities Centers United (ROC United) and Director of the Food Labor Research Center at University of California, Berkeley. Saru was listed in CNN’s “Top10 Visionary Women” and recognized as a Champion of Change by the White House in 2014, and a James Beard Foundation Leadership Award in 2015. Saru authored Behind the Kitchen Door (Cornell University Press, 2013), a national bestseller, and most recently Forked: A New Standard for American Dining (Oxford University Press, 2016).
