Philadelphia’s Financial Empowerment Centers (FEC) provide high quality one-on-one financial counseling at no costs to the consumer. Our counselors are professionally trained to help clients transition from debt management to saving.
The Financial Empowerment Centers launched in March 2013 and have since provided counseling to over 12, 500 individuals. Our FEC counselors provide services such as; credit repair, access to affordable and safe checking and savings accounts, home-ownership preparation, and retirement saving. The project is a joint initiative of the Office of Community Empowerment & Opportunity and its partner, Clarifi, the region’s leading financial counseling non-profit.
As part of the city’s Shared Prosperity Philadelphia strategic plan to fight poverty, the Financial Empowerment Centers help to move people towards financial independence.
